More Info:

With the release of GLOBALPOSITIONINGRECORD, OM Trio has constructed a studio album which, paradoxically, is greatly diverse and also beautifully concise. At times the album is funky and groove-heavy; at other times the music is ambient electronica. You will hear the band display their penchant for drum 'n bass as well as indulge their desires for heavy metal. Music as varied as OM Trio's required the invention of a new genre: 'elevator music for headbangers.' Based in New Jersey, OM Trio has brought it's unique hard-rocking electric jazz to venues nationally through relentless touring. The band has been progressively attracting more attention and drawing larger crowds wherever they perform. An OM Trio tour is usually defined by the band traveling large distances with concerts on almost every day. 30 shows in 32 days in 8 states is old hat for this three-piece. OM Trio has performed in such legendary venues as the Fillmore Auditorium and Great American Music Hall in San Francisco, CA; the Fox Theater and Boulder Theater in Boulder, CO; the Maple Leaf in New Orleans, LA; House of Blues in Boston, MA; the Belly Up Tavern in San Diego, CA; the Oregon Country Fair in Eugene, OR; High Sierra Music Festival in Quincy, CA; and too many other places to list here. OM Trio has also shared the stage with countless national acts. The list includes Wynton Marsalis' Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Joshua Redman, Tower of Power, John Scofield, Galactic, Bernie Worrell, Tim Reynolds, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Robert Walter's 20th Congress, California Guitar Trio, Umphrey's McGee, Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Leftover Salmon. Recent press clippings include: '...hard, heavy and intense...these guys are in it for the playing.' -MODERN DRUMMER 'Something about the keys-bass-drum format of OM Trio is music to our readers' ears. Call it a weakness for tight chops or a hunger for that funk fusion-meets-jazz standard sound, but OM Trio won it's coveted position by a landslide.' -SF BAY GUARDIAN, Best Jazz Band 'OM Trio represents the new genre of diverse, free-form instrumental jazz bands that abruptly oscillate between classic composition into acid-jazz into funk into rock into electronica...OM Trio seems to be on it's way...' -LAS VEGAS CITY LIFE '...thoroughly convincing and impressive...' -JAMBASE, OM Trio is: Brian Felix Keyboards Pete Novembre Bass Ilya Stemkovsky Drums PLEASE NOTE: The proper spelling of the band is 'OM Trio.' Capital-O, capital-M, Trio. There is no 'the' in the name of the band and the 'M' should absolutely be capitalized.
