About This Release
EU-only two CD collection. This is Jasmine's second and final volume covering the recordings of one of the first teen idols, Bobby Rydell. Vol 2 continues with all five LPs he released from the end of Vol 1 in 1959 to the end of 1962. In order to ensure it all fits we have removed some tracks, which were released as singles and featured already in Vol 1. Features the albums: Bobby Salutes The Great Ones wherein you get his versions of such classics as, "That Old Black Magic" and "April Showers". Next we have Rydell At The Copa which is chock full of the kind of supper club tracks and a stonking medley. Chubby Checker & Bobby Rydell and All The Hits cover the more familiar teen oriented territory and includes his versions of several popular hits of the day. Then we close with An Era Reborn in which you get a selection of 1962 hits all performed with fine big band interpretations of Benny Goodman, Woody Herman and other stars of the era. Every lover of pre-Beatles American pop music will find much to enjoy on this set!
